    Preventing Spam emails?

Recently I've started to get loads and its really bugging me. I've got AVG and ZoneAlarm but I really need some sort of filter. Any suggestions?

AVG and ZoneAlarm will have no effect on spam email - because your mail does not go directly to your PC, it goes to another server (eg hotmail), which you then connect to to retrieve your mail.

If you use Outlook then you can get junk email plugins I think.

    Who is your mail provider?

Once it's started though, it's hard to stop - info gets sold on, and on, etc, and it becomes a big problem.

I would contact tiscali - they should be providing suitable anti spam measures.

Theres nothing you can really do on your own pc to block it - although i'm sure you can get some kind of anti spam addin that can just simply move spam to a seperate folder.

Happened to me, and I just changed email provider.

Is it stuff advertising viagra etc? If it is you are stuffed and it will only get worse. I would get a new email account.

I have the same problem- I get about 2-300 spam messages a day (I've had the enail account for 7 years) I got the anti spam software which move suspected spam emails o a different folder. I still end up having to go through all my spam emails though to check if it's put any none-spam emails in the spam folder.
I don't think there's any actual way of gettting rid of it. If you go the sthe page to unsubscribe, it just adds you to more junk email lists.

Best bet is to get a new email address and don't use it anywhere that isn't secure. That way you have your existing account for all the spam and some of your emails but you have a new account that hopefully won't get any. I've had my gmail account for months now nd don't get any spam at all.

The old "click here to unsubscribe" is the oldest trick in the book mate!

I get some spam but its from companies I have used for goods sending me promo stuff, nothing telling my i'm insufficient as a man etc.

I made the mistake a few weeks ago of trying to unsubscribe which is probs why it got worse. Lesson learned.
So can my provider simply change my email address if I contact them?
