I haven't been looking into this really, but have their terms of work been changed, such as more hours for the same wage?

If not sack the fuckers, they agreed to terms of employment when accepting the job so stop winging I say.

The action is taking the form of rolling strikes, affecting different parts of the organisation on different days, rather than an all-out national strike. Therefore you'll get post some days but not others.

The full story has not been portrayed in the media.

We've basically been told that they are striking without wanting to settle on a 'deal'. In other words they are the 'baddies' and we all have to suffer cause of these people.

The reality is that they keep trying to make deals and everytime they are agreed, someone steps in and changes the terms (Peter Mandelson).

For a government who curries favour from the electorate based on their 'for the working man' ideology ... they are doing a good job of fucking over the last dregs of a unionised work force.

This is all being done by design though. Royal Mail is going the same way as the mines back in the 80's.

Royal Mail was fucked as soon as the government allowed private firms to cherry pick the most profitable bits of their business. Only the Royal Mail are made to provide a full service for the whole country. How can they compete with those firms who just deliver bulk mail in big cities?
It's just driven by the free market ideology that brought you the bankers welfare benefits.
They want rid of the Royal Mail but because people like it and it has a strong union they couldn't do it outright. Instead it's death by a thousand cuts. I feel sorry for the postal workers, they are fucked whether they strike or not.

Just had a package delivered by them, Washington are working as normal today, tomorrow they will strike, its a 48 hour strike so they doing it over the 2 days.

Good on them I say, if the terms are changing and its not to do with payrises etc then I am behind them.

If it is over pay then I am not behind them.

Brid and forks , you both have hit the nail on the head .

Chewy your right too .. we are having rolling strikes .

We have been delivering post today as our strike days not until tomorrow , i was crossing the road today and a car went by and all i heard was " f*cking scab " out of the window

We have been trying to reach a deal but everytime we get close there are certain people stopping it , take yesterday for example . The Union were going to announce the cancellation of the strikes as the RM negotiating team and the C.W.U had agreed on certain subjects ... then along comes a letter from up above ( and probably to do with Mandelson the slimey clown ) that vetoed the whole arrangement .

Hopefully we can get this sorted out as its no good for The Public / Businesses or us Posties .

Anything involved Mandelson has got to be more dodgy than one of pike's business ventures...

I'm behind the posties, I just hope they manage to make a difference

The thing that worries me is that the mass 'conclusion' basically given to us by the media is being used aggressively towards the strikers.

Quite amazing considering how the public seemed to be behind the unions only 10-20-30 years ago. Nowadays unless you do your own investigation its nigh on impossible to know the real story.
