Re: playing downloaded games on ds Buy a R4DS and a MicroSD card or whatever size. I have a 1gig and it holds a ton of games. If you're gonna be using the DS for music/video then get a bigger card. Not sure what the max is I think it's 4gb or 8gb. That's it really.. you just download the games and drag and drop the .nds files onto the memory card and play.
I would need a usb micro sd writer/reader for this too, it looks confusing I dont want to buy the wrong stuff
i think its like any other mass storage device. you link it to the computer via the cable and drag the files onto the device and just access and delete the files you want in a similar way. no need for card writers
You do need a card reader but you get one with the R4DS. Basically, get the R4DS from somewhere off the net.. it's about £23 with postage. make sure you get the English version otherwise it'll be in Japanese. Then you need to buy a microsd card. Some people say you need a fast version otherwise some games will lag so go for the Sandisk Ultra II. It'll cost you about £16 for a 2GB. That's it really. The microsd slots into the R4DS cartridge which goes in your DS like a normal game. You put .nds files onto the card and wallah.
Well mine has worked from day one so I guess so. I think there's a problem with download play though cos I couldn't get it to work with Mario Kart the other day although I've had it working before. I dunno if I was using the proper game though. As for torrent sites I dunno. A place I used to get everything has recently been closed so I'm not sure now.
does anyone use moonshell? going away an space is a premium so thinking bout putting some music on my ds an using that for everything... what's the lowest kbps you can save a .mp3 to without it sounding shite...? it's coming thru the ds anyway so i'm assuming its not gonna be the greatest quality in the 1st place... also has anyone got into theme park/sim city? i can't get used to the interface with them on ds so not played them
I was playing themepark for a while last night, the controls take some getting used too but I think I'll get into it once I work them out properly
I have theme park but haven't played it. As for music, I recommend some portable speakers otherwise you're going to have to be in a very quiet place to hear the music as the DS isn't very loud, although there's a volume function in Moonshell that allows to you up it to about 400%. Still not very loud though.
