Planet of the Apes (new version) Right, i just watched (for the first time) the new Tim Burton version of Planet of the Apes with Marky Mark in. Admittedly i missed the first 5 minutes or so but nevermind... can someone please explain - WTF? I don't know if i'm more confused cause i saw the original one with Charlton Heston in about 50 times as a kid or what - but eh? 1) Is it earth he lands on? or is it just a planet that the ship crashed on in the past and the apes decended from the ships pets. 2) How come when he 'goes back' thru the wotsit storm, is he back on earth or what? how come there's apes? did he go back in time? or forwards? whats going on? i'm usually ok with weird story lines... but i dunno if i'm more confused cause i like the original!?!?!? please enlighten me... or maybe i'm looking for a too complicated answer... i do that a lot.....
but he goes back thru the storm thingy - and ends up on earth again but it's monkey instead of humans - BUT with the same history as humans - i.e. the statue of the first american president as a ape? explain that! had he gone further forward in time again maybe? i'll gunna ring that chuffer marky mark and ask him... the story was full of holes... i'm not gunna sleep again until i get this clear in mi heed....
It's a mooveee. It's not reeeeeel !! There's more important things to worry about. Like what we doin this weekend??
The whole movie is utter shite. What was Burton thinking, OK the Apes look the part, but like that's it. Not a patch on the origional version. Charlton Heston is the man.
I saw it at least twice at The Odeon in Town, their huge theatre 1 was the buisness. Matrix reloaded is out on the 15th, then Revolutions comes out three months later. Douple wammie!
Of course I am, it's where it's at baby. Have you checked their new Electra Suit yet, they have gone for a modern, trendy look. I'll take Arthouse over Hollywood fodda anyday.
