at least they were prosecuted in a normal court of law using proper evidence. not fitted up on the say so of someone under torture. So I guess I'm more inclined to believe it.

But remember all the poor Irish blokes jailed for years for stuff they didn't do just cos the police needed to show they could catch terrorists. Do you believe that stuff no longer happens?

Happens all the time, there’s always some poor bastard getting the file off their head for something they didn't do, gives the law an easier job and a pat on the back. Like that poor bastard who got shot on the London tube, head blown all over the floor, for doing fuckall according to CCTV & the public.

I think even if this government were over thrown, there would be a party of some linked clowns to get in there. I think there should be compulsory classes in schools to educate youngins on the world of politics, maybe in the near future we'd get somewhere.

That documentary someone posted a few weeks ago about the UK & our loss of the freedom of speech/protest stuff, one guy was saying he doesn't understand why people won’t voice their opinions against the gouvenment, it's down to a few things, 1 being people that are too scared to & the another, people (more the younger generation) don't know fuckall about any of it to say anything.

it's true. Most people can't be bothered, don't think it has anything to do with them. We all got fucked over by newspapers with no news, celebrities instead of anyone worthwhile, buying more stuff to try to get happier. and fear. I wish I knew what to do to change it. I vote, I go on marches when they happen, I winge on various internet sites, argue the toss whenever I can. None of it makes the slightest difference. I know that. But don't try to tell me it doesn't matter or that everything is OK and those nice people in the government have our best interests at heart and that this is the best of all countries to live cos that is not true and believing that propaganda is what lets them carry on getting away with it.

I think your forgetting the fact our Government was at the heart of an expense scandal just a few months back, forcing many to resign & a Minister ousted out of Westminster for the 1st time in over 300 years. This was corruption at it's finest; don’t be fooled by men that wear suits.

no I have to disagree with that. I think the police in the UK are better than most. That's not to say there isn't corruption but it's not even in the same universe as, say, the Nigerian police (of which I have some knowledge)
