Petrol.. what is your preferred petrol type and why (not to sniff, Tom)? i notice my car feels more responsive when I put BP ulitmate in it but its like 90p+ per litre. they reckon it gives more miles per gallon but the gallon costs more.. so im not sure if it works out you're going the distance with it  stick Jet in it and it struggles 60-70 and after 85 it doesn't want to know Shell has an Optimax option you can use which is 85p per litre (i think), which i can't complain about.. what do you think is best for mileage/your car etc etc?
optimax is 4 performance motors...not 1.2 fart boxes......cars like cossies, porsches and top of dee range bmw's etc.. stick the cheapest in,it makes no difference,if you wont to put the more expensive stuff in im sure il have an expensive motor to sell you
nowt funnier than someone putting petrol into a diesel car... purely as a spectator, i cant think of much worse if i'd done it to my car
unleaded 95 ron, like mr elliot said it doesnt really matter for my shitty 1.2. although for mpg is very good, only used half a tank to get back up at manchester on saturday at about 80/90mph all the way back
I get my petrol from Morrisons so I can collect the points and get money off my shopping, supermarkets are always cheaper than other places aswell. My cars a bit battered so putting better petrol in wouldn't make any difference at all
My local garage sells 98 octane, unbranded petrol, and as my ECU has an octane switch, you get the benefits of advanced ignition timing and more agressive VVT, so it is definitely a noticable differance. As for the additives, I don't think you should be able to feel them directly. As to whether they clean your engine or not, I don't know. I do usually run BP Ultimate, though Harry
i think you should be able to put your car in different modes for the sake of fuel consumption.. for example if you had a 2 litre car you should have a button that knocks it down to 1.2 or something, because when you're travelling at the speed you want you're still spending more per mile.. i wish i could knock mine down to 1 litre mode sometimes, i dont always care about how fast it can go, i want my moneys worth!
Esso used to do super plus which is 98 ron, optimax or bp ultimate is the best, just over 98 ron rating, instead of normal 95 unleaded. The higher octane rated fuel burns at a higher temperature, giving slightly more power. shame about the price though! u could try Atol racing fuel, it's 100 ron - great stuff! its over 3 times the price of pump fuel though! Sainsburys at team valley have really cheap petrol at the minute!
sainsbury on the valley did my mate a cool deal..his momma does her shopping there, and if she spend overs £25 i think he got 5p off per litre he payed 69.9........he said he's never seen it that cheap (he's pretty young)
asda petrol normally, it's generally the cheapest and seeing as my saxo is a 1.0 the difference it's gonna make is minimal
Re: Petrol.. nothing like a bit of 4-star when kard bar raise the price of liquid gold nasser.. retro :groovy:
