definatley sounds like there's something else running in memory - be it a virus or spyware... get hijackthis - run it and then post the log file on here

hhmm... looks clean as a whistle actually, except for whatever those toolbars you've got plugged into IE........
Do a CTRL+ALT+DEL, and go to the processes tab. Check your CPU usage at the bottom of the window, if it's running at 100% then something is taking up loads of your processor's time. Click on the CPU column to sort by which process is using the most CPU time, then post which ones are hogging it (0 being nothing, 90+ being lots)
looks as clean as a whistle... you aren't running AVG are you? just mine scans at 8AM every morning and slows the machine down to a crawl... just a thought.
i don't think it's hardware..... something is running the processor... does it do it when firefox is closed?
It seems to be ok when i first switch it on then it has fits and starts. The fits usually being when i try to do more than one thing at a time ie come on the board/use windows media player... It won't even play traktor at all anymore
