me too. last time i seen him was at creamfields. some of the "live" computer mixes he did then didnt even sound very good! ferry corsten is fantastic live. he more more of a "DJ" than PVD

You dont really need all that imo Ableton can do it all...you can use it like a cdj or you can use it to play parts of tracks Im routing the channels out of ableton into my soundcard into my dj mixer so i can do all the eq'ing/cueing/fading using the mixer and then use an X-Session midi controller to do the all the fx and control the tempo of Ableton (so it can be beatmatched to standard vinyl) so good

Looks amazing - but are dj's forgetting (or at least some) that its about people enjoying themselves, and not someone showing off about all the loops and rubbish they can layer over the top of another tune ad nauseum. Call me old fashioned, but i still prefer one track being mixed into the next - with the occasional loop/sample/whatever over the top - and maybe a bit of scratching. To me, theres a limit to what you can achieve live, versus what you can do in a studio spending alot of time creating something. From all the recent PVD sets ive heard, i cant say they suddenly stand out as being so out of this world that they were obviously being done off 10 different bits of kit blah blah blah ...... Amazing looking booth though - the toys there are the nuts.
plus a spare DJM-1000 sitting on the end as well... that bloke loves his toys like, no student loan could ever get you that amount of gear
awesome setup imo, ableton is a way of customizing your sets and adding more individuality, not just a dj being lazy. its the future, might as well embrace it. i still use cds like but ableton gives you a chance to be much more creative in your sets
