    Part-Time Music Production Courses

Anyone know of any local part time music production courses? Just looking to learn the basics to begin with, wouldn't mind one to one private tuition but dont have the equipment available so thats out the window.

Would ideally love to do 1-2 nights a week, hopefully wouldnt be too expensive!

Any help would be great. Cheers :king:

gateshead college on monday nights 6-9 pm, its £120 but am sire you can pay by standind order over a few months

its seemed ok when i went to it, but the class was quite large, so you dont get much attention one on one, but the equiptment and facilities are spot on! it used logic as well

I was thinking that like but sure it would of started in September, might still drop Jez an email to see whats happening. I was in touch with him when we got back from Ibiza & sure he said there was no course this year due to a mix up in courses or summik along those lines.

Theres a lad from sound control in town who also does lessons, not sure about Logic but definitely Cuebase & Ableton, hink his names Chris?

    his email is:
    abletoon@hotmail.com

drop him a message, he says he comes to your house to do it so theres no farting on with travel etc...

Try & find a tutor that is like-minded, I've sat down with a few that hate the music I play/want to produce, it's ended up a waste of time & money as there hearts not in it.

download ableton from a warez site, use it everyday and go through the tutorials you get with the program, use the net for tutorials aswell!

when you start making money from your tunes buy it.

My dad lectures the music production course at Newcastle College and it isnt all based on using software, theres a performance module and a few other parts will be totally irrelevant to what youre interested in like learning about microphones etc. He says most of the DJs and people into dance music end up dropping out after a few weeks or failing the course because of this reason. Its probably best to get a private tutor that can be more specific to your needs.
