Parkhead lure is strong for Samba schemer Rivaldo Rivaldo insists the lure of the "temple" of Glasgow football and the Champions League has convinced him to look towards Celtic next season. The 32-year-old has previously stated Bolton were his "priority" although he was flattered by the Parkhead link. But the deal with Sam Allardyce appears to have fallen through after the Wanderers boss became frustrated by a lack of movement. The Brazilian said: "Scotland is a paradise for forwards and to play for Celtic would be sensational for a Brazilian. Glasgow is a temple of football. It would be very nice to play there. ________________________________________________ When he says "Scotland is a paradise for forwards" I think what he should of said it is a haven (SP) for bad defenders.
its purely a money move where ever he goes... thats why alardyce pulled out of the deal, hes just waiting for someone with more money to come along
Re: Parkhead lure is strong for Samba schemer Rivaldo the scottish league is crap, he probably just wants to go their to bring back his form, theres only 2 teams in the scottish league
Re: Re: Parkhead lure is strong for Samba schemer Rivaldo There's only 5-6 in the Premiership, 3 horse race for the title
Re: Re: Re: Parkhead lure is strong for Samba schemer Rivaldo how can u see that, the premierships on the whole is alot closer league than the scottish, any team can get a result against the other on their day. Whereas in scotland the top 2 teams, rangers and celtic take turns it seems at dominating things.
Re: Re: Re: Re: Parkhead lure is strong for Samba schemer Rivaldo Arsenal went the WHOLE season unbeaten in the league!! That's ONE team domination of the highest order.
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Parkhead lure is strong for Samba schemer Rivaldo and how many times has this been done? i cant see it happening again tbh, and the league on a whole was quite a close one went up to the last game for european places etc, each season in scotland its the same top 2. Im not saying celtic and rangers aren't good sides, i just dont think they are in the best league its too small and only the 2 big names really attract big named players. And i just personally can't see the majority of defenses holding up against rivaldo if he hits the form everyones knows he can get, but then agan not many can
I reckon Celtic and Rangers should be in the Prem! Lets have a British league. The Welsh sides are already in the English divisions, why not the Scottish!
agreed, the SPL isn't the biggest league so it would make sense, rangers and especially celtic would definately be able to hold their own in the premiership.
We'd win it in five years, that's why it won't happen until Arsenal start dominating and winning the league by 20-30 points and SKY demand it.
The Scottish League is shit, but if he joined us it would be for Europe. But, the only real way Celtic and Rangers will improve is if/when a British league starts.
What a load of shite !! We have improved dramtically under O'Neill - Dominating Scotland, Chamions league, beating off the Premierships 4th best team in Europe, the Uefa cup runners up, Eufa cup Quarter finals... the next level is the second stages of the Champs league.
Probably didn't say that right. What I meant was, Celtic have done great with O'Niel on the budget that we'be had. We've got some great youth players coming through but with the finacial backing of joining the Premiership we would move on evern more. Rangers, mean while under McLeish have done very badly this season cause they've had to sell on their best players. They've brought in duds. Which looks set to continue next season as they keep on signing players with gammy legs.
Re: Re: Re: Parkhead lure is strong for Samba schemer Rivaldo totally agree, Premiership a poor league now the fact that Birmingham, Charlton and Southampton can do so well with old firm rejects like Niemi, Johannson, Di Canio, Fabrice Fernandes and Oliver Tebilly tells its own story. For my money Celtic would p1ss all over the above teams and probably all over Newcastle and Liverpool too even without Henrik.
