Paper less Office's At work we are moving all files & whole load of other stuff onto Objective, have any of you IT bods used this? Spill the beans & the facts if you know the score. My yellow post-its that have all the work I never got round to doing have to be binned
they tried this 6 years ago at an old job. it didn't work. they tried to implement it at doctors surgeries with our software. it didn't work. it's a nice ideal people will always needs bits of paper to carry around in their hands looking busy
i never accept the 'didn't work' card This was attempted where I used to work....it's staff who feel they have the final say that is the problem. Bosses need to take a firmer hand and basically tell them to do it or lose it and it will be their responsibility. Used to piss me off no end because the older staff simply refused to even put their diaries in outlook and tasks into a work manager and won't part with paper files that they have been clutching on to for 30 years "just in case." The very same people opposed a desktop faxing system because "walking to the fax machine is pretty much the only exercise they get in the office" - what..apart from the 50 coffee machine trips each day? They actually get away with it aswell!! These luddites are getting in the way of technological evolution. Sack the bastards! If Norwich Union can do it...... It's unlucky for whoever has to scan in all the documents mind. Join the revolution.
1) majority of GP surgeries are full of self important receptionist over 40 who can't be arsed to learn owt else 2) have you SEEN the amount of paperwork/paper based data held by GP's / doctors etc. thank god i'm away from them
