Would doing that for BitTorrent make it faster over a router?

BitTorrent seems to run a wee bit faster if you use a ten port range anywhere in the region of ports 49152 through 65535. Just thought I'd add that. :)

tried it on my linksys WRTG54 and FA happened, i think its limited if you have lots of machines on your network.

    Might be wrong tho.

Right, trying to do this now.

Bit Torrent has no user interface so how do i configure it?

It's dismally slow over my router like

If you're using the original BT client then I have no idea, never used it.

I recommend using ABC - easy to use GUI client that gets the job done. You can configure the ports through Action-->Preferences-->Network, you want a ten-port range anywhere in the range posted above, the more random the better (eg 57982 to 57991). You'll need to configure your router for incoming and outgoing on that range.

    :)
