    He's tried to bulid a team tbf to him though, Emre, Luque, Parker, Owen, all good buys on paper, when fucking fit. The defence is shit no doubt about that, and now Given has broke his thumb!

    "It's a mighty blow. It's an absolute disaster for him and an absolute disaster for the club," bemoaned Souness.

    "It's a dark day for us."

    Given is set to undergo more tests on his thumb injury this weekend, but he is already a major doubt for next week's clash with Middlesbrough.
