outlook express

    outlook express

    is it always so tempremental, sometimes it connects and other times it won't.

    depends how you have it set up.

    make sure your account details are correct.

    also make sure that it has access to the ports it needs too :up:

    Port 25 and 110 should be set up on your router just to make sure.

    I only use O.E at work for Hotmail, but used to use it all the time and never had any problem with it.

    Why not just use proper Outlook?

    What error are you getting? I assume if it does connect then your accoutn details are correct.

    it says this, it was mworking fine the other day but now it won't do anything

    The message could not be sent because the server rejected the sender's e-mail address. The sender's e-mail address was 'Alexander.booth@blueyonder.co.uk.'. Subject '', Account: 'pop3.blueyonder.co.uk', Server: 'smtp.blueyonder.co.uk.', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '501 <Alexander.booth@blueyonder.co.uk.>: domain missing or malformed', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 501, Error Number: 0x800CCC78

    Go into your Mail Account Properties - Make sure you've got your email address in the 'Email Address' box, aswell as the 'Reply Address' box... try that

    hhmm... at a loss then, is it Outlook Express 6? According to Microsoft, that error message read 0x800CCC78 SMTP_REJECTED_SENDER Unknown sender. This is caused by having the incorrect e-mail address in the Reply-To field.

    yeah its version 6, but its been working fine for a few weeks now, and yesterday it won't connect at all:(

    have you opened up any ports on the router/are you using uPnP?

    no i haven't did't think i had to, to use email, i'll do it and see if that sorts it out
