Respected around the world for their inimitable style, their party Optimo Espacio, based in Glasgow, has been making love to the ears of all who have been lucky enough to attend since it started in 1997.

They're style is so unique and far reaching that they wont allow any other DJs to play at Espacio, instead opting to Invite bands and artists to play, the numbers of which include (read them all, or you'll miss the point) Simian Mobile Disco/The Rapture/Peaches/Grace Jones/Franz Ferdinand/Shackleton/Ebony Bones/Den Haan/A Certain Ratio/Padded Cell/Luciano/Joakim/SuperMeyer/LCD Soundsytem/Hot Chip/Richie Hawtin/Prins Thomas/Modeselektor...

(look, there's absolutely LOADS more, but you'll get the picture)

Ask ANYONE who's been and they'll tell you that they make for an absolutely unbelievable party, THIS WILL GO OFF!!!

As for POLAROID, they're the DJs and promoters who run the most forward thinking electronic party in Leeds at the Wire club which was the first club night in Leeds to give debuts to Annie Mac, Radio Slave, Optimo, In Flagranti, Brodinski, Infadels, Boys Noize, Simian Mobile Disco, Justus Kohncke & Tim Sweeney.
    They know their shit... FACT!

Not sure if Conway or MOS enforce rules

2 - All new threads must be given a meaningful title, for example Event, Location, Date - Anythiny else will be deleted.

    Fair enough.

I should have probably taken the time to read through the rules on this.

I'll repost this in the mix section and leave it to the powers that be to decide if this needs deleting.

I could argue that Optimo is an event, Newcastle is a location and May is a date, but i guess that's kind of beside the point

Here's a recording of JD Twitch's (one half of Optimo) set on a couple of months ago at the Sub Club, Glasgow. He was filling in for Zomby who couldn't make it.

"70 minutes of last night if anyone fancies some 1992 hardcore uproar action. I only had a few hours notice that I was going to do this so a lot of the records I grabbed I literally hadn't heard for 17 years until i played them in the club. There are approx. 33 tracks on this that veer from totally ridiculous, do your head in early UK hardcore, to Belgian rave stormtroopers to the hardest record ever made (Mescalinium United's "We Have Arrived"Wink to early (and not so early) jungle to Sheffield bass n' bleep and on....

It was so much fun that I think I'll do it again in 2026."

The rules are aimed at the people who come on here and just spam it to fuck (emporiumpromotions earned himself a one month ban for this recently).

I have no problem with giving the local promoters some leeway :)

Geoff, the title of your thread looks fine, but if you want it changing, just let me know

    Cheers Conway.

If it's ok, I'll change it on Friday when we announce the date and venue, which should mean i don't need to set up a new topic (something I obviously didn't think about when i set this one up).

However, if thats a ballache / taking the piss, just let me know.

I'm REALLY looking forward to this one.
