Opteron 144 skt 939s... Been hearing a lot about these chips.. especially the CABYE stepping chips.. They come at 1.35v stock and, with good cooling, can be raised from 1.8ghz stock to 3ghz... on AIR!! Madness.. they are upward multiplier locked @ 9x but with a decent motherboard and RAM the HTT can be raised to an astonishing 330!! And the best thing is.. you can get these bad boys for £120.. thats a chip thats faster than a FX-97 for £500 less. Also... its got 1MB L2 cache.. its a fucking wonder chip.. If your looking at upgrading soon get one of these (if you have a decent board and 3700+ RAM) /Nerdish style ranting
939 boards are the way to go, not only do they support the current 64-bit chips, but once dual core comes down in price, you can fit it to a 939 board and all you have to do is flash the BIOS
