    Opinions on lineups?

Just looking for some opinions here really. Imagine theres a new trancey/tech/progressive night starting up a in a cool, dark, small venue in Sunderland (sorry its not Newcastle), and the promoter is lucky enough to have some funding behind him.

Alot of the well known names are unavailable, and you dont want to bring the cheese makers in for fear of getting shit loads of flak from the cooler clubbbers. Who would you like to see on the opening night? Playing it reasonably safe obviously as you dont want an empty room.

don't listen to anyone on this board, they know nothing or don't have a clue

sunderland, so i've heard, is a tough nut to crack for 'proper' clubbing

A very tough nut, but thats why im here, im sure its my destiny :D

No body else has ever done anything like this before in Sunderland, the only credible night running here is Ward 10 but their nights are more housey - kinda like a mini Shindig. Still excellent stuff though.

Zero tolerance on drugs I'm afraid, I personally dont see any need for it.

EDIT: Inquired about Greg Downey last week, he is available, I'm waiting further details. Also, Mike Foyle is one of our residents.

Im guessing itll either be Voodoo Rooms or Independent.

i cant see independent giving up fridays (club NME) or saturdays (music for misfits)

and thursdays is cool for cats.

Unless you charge 20quid on the door of Voodoo rooms you wont get enough money to afford any big names cos its rather small.

Dont worry about the venue, we'll announce what it is later on. Its already booked but I dont want to give out any details just yet. I'm really looking for thoughts / views on who's cool these days and who can pull a crowd without it being a tacky affair.

Theres a few, but we'll have to educate people. Things are only going to get better if somebody has the balls to do something like this in the first place.

how do you gan about 'educating people' into liking trance ?

thing is with sunderland, it seems everyone is either 'him outta that band', or a hendon mad dog...

    thats my view anyways..

    V. true.

Your either a full on Radgepacket, or Complete and utter Indie boy - "with that hair, and those jeans, who looks like such and such out of blahdy blahdy blah"

the problem is the people who like trance in sunderland, more than not like the new monkey as well. its a curse.

but ai, neal scarborough and bryan Kearney FTW like pet
