On sunday, I was watching T4

and Im not being funny or wot BUT I was watching that As If programme, I had never seen it before so I dont know how they do things on there but it was showing 2 lads kissing and also suggested quite alot from where I was sitting for most of the show, it just seemed to focus just on them.

Now that's all fine and dandy but this was at midday, you would think I wouldn't have any hangups about this but I honestly thought it was abit unacceptable to show that kind of stuff at that time?

    Did anybody else see it?

So it’s acceptable to show a heterosexual kiss at midday but not a homosexual kiss at anytime??

It wasn't just a kiss though, I probably would have let it go if it was just that, but it just seemed to focus on these 2 lads practically naked in this lads house, massaging each other, it was beyond suggestive, it just didnt seem to me what kids should be watching at midday on a kids slot on channel 4.

What time is this as if programme on during the week? Because Im sure as most programmes on a sunday are omibus'

wud you have noticed as much if it had been heterosexual? Do you not think it’s just because it’s a taboo subject it made you think? Kids/teenage programs have allot a sex storey lines if you watch them

I've got nothing at all against gay people but I wouldn't like my younger brother and sister to be seeing that on tv at such a young age.
Shaun has a very valid point!!!

Is it acceptable for them to be watching a storey line about teenage pregnancy? rape? drugs? Is the issue about gay relationships on TV or the content of TV programs in general?

    Usually here or there...
Seen it a few times, I think programme usually had two main characters or at least one for each show. If that makes any sense what so ever? Last week, saw one where lad and lass were main characters type thing for that show and most of programme was all about them. So sounds like one you saw, most of the programme was all about those two lads? Don't think its just about gay people all the time etc. Group of young ones at college I believe... Dunno about the 'suggestive scenes' either!

Each episode of As If focuses on a different member of the group of friends (well sort of) so presume it was their turn:confused: u talkin about the bit where they ordered pizza?

Definatley not. Kids shouldn't be shown any of these issues. At least from tv anyway.
I dont care if tv shows gays kissing, having bum sex, whatever!
It shouldn't be shown at lunch time on a Sunday when lots of children are watching the tv.
    Isn't t4 a kiddies show?????

Are you putting a homosexual kiss in the same category as teenage pregnancy, rape and drugs?

Hollyoaks is on earlier on a Sunday, which has shown all of these issues. Yet none of you appear to have complained about that.

I'm not talking in catagories at all hun. All i'm saying is that there are certain things on daytime/weekend tv that young children should not be viewing. As you are saying, some of there things are shown on daytme/weekend tv but should't be IMO.
As I said earlier, I have nothing what so ever against homosexuality/race/religion etc. A person is a person in my eyes!!!:chill:

Fair enough. I do think Hollyoaks and As If are maybe a little much sometimes for the time of day, but then most younger kids are probably more interested in watching cartoons on another channel. And they do make good Sunday viewing for the rest of us!

This is my point, why make such a big deal about a kiss, yet say nothing about other issues raised by TV programs aimed at the younger audience?
