Apart from playing games what can I do with it? I haven't signed up for Live (yet) so does that mean i can't connect it to the internet at all to download demos etc? Can I download demos onto my pc and then transfer them to the hdd on my xbox?

I think I heard something about playing avi's on it? That would save a lot of ball ache with 5 hour avi to dvd conversions on my pc :dunce:

yeah u need to connect to live to download the 1st update , then put a disk with an avi on in ( or on a usb drive/pen ) go to the media player bit and go to video, attempt to play the avi then it will prompt u to download the 2nd update , accept then u can watch avi , divx , xvid etc !!!

So in theory i only need to connect to live the one time? (I think I can blag one of those 1 month free memberships from my m8)

What about demos? Could i download them onto my pc and transfer them or has it all got to be done via live? I got juiced 2 off santa and i wish i'd played a demo first :(

there's different live memberships m8, u get silver free and can do some things but cant play games online and usually u get a months free gold membership when u 1st sign up anyway !!

there is a way of putting stuff on the xbox hd via a pc but its all got be done in a certain way with a special lead etc !! there are a load of demo's u can just download off live tho !!!

You should be able to rip them to HDD or it'll play music straight off an ipod / other music player
