Having experienced wireless already (sorting out my gf's wireless keyboard/mouse when it went tits up) I wouldn't bother with it anyway :D

Wires for me all the way.

All of the controllers for the 360 are wireless, you just get an extra one for the £70 and you obviously haven't used any of the more recent wireless controllers- eg wavebird for gamecube- works absolutely perfectly and has a range of over 20 metres without any signal dropout.
I know that generally wireless stuff is a let down but If it comes as standard with the console then it will work perfectly.
There are no little boxes etc witht he 360 cos it's all built in.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Official Xbox 360 Launch Price!

What you don't realise is that most of these wireless controllers operate on or around 2ghz, where there is a de-regulated band for wireless devices. Several devices use this band, 802.11b/g networks, bluetooth devices, cordless phones, baby monitors, etc...

Those are just the ones that use the frequencies around that range. There are others that cause interference on the same frequency (microwaves being the most obvious example).

Dunno bout you but I don't want my game getting fucked every time my mum does spuds for tea or every time the battery runs out :D

There's no need for wireless anyway. How far away from the TV/Console are you gonna be when you're playing it?

I'd bet a fiver the majority of you would be within 3 metres.

    It's just chindogu.

I haven never experienced and dropout or problems and I have a wireless network at home as well as wireless controllers for my gamecube & xbox.
Certainly never had any interferance from my microwave either

Why wuld you wanna be 20 meters away from the tv while playing your computer?

I didn't say they weren't stupid, I was just making a point from personal experience that the wireless controllers for gaming are a lot better than people were saying.

Out in the sticks cool as fukk gang! :)
i think it has certain advantages, otherwise i wouldnt have a wireless network myself - but it certainly aint flawless, i have a few wireless devices and it took a lot of pissing about to make them all work in unison - and the microwave thing is true, admittedly you are unlikely to sit next to the mic when ur playing, but it still fucks signals up.

Im sure the same arguments were made about television remote controls with wires attached about 15 years ago as well.

Wireless controllers are a great idea - the Gamecube wavebird one is brilliant (Uses RF not wifi tho).

Ill be getting the new xbox definately - it looks the business and for 200 odd quid its a steal.
