Still won't work for me. Never had a problem before with firewall's or anything like that. Very strange
here you go: For Fawkes' sake.... Newcastle 1 Portsmouth 4 Our six-game seasonal unbeaten home record went up in smoke as Pompey left Tyneside with their fourth consecutive Premiership away win this season. Three goals in four minutes early in the first half did the damage and Newcastle never looked likely to recover, despite getting one back soon after going three behind. It was a case of Pompey crimes not chimes as our suicidal defending and blunt attack indulged in the sort of profligacy not seen here since the darkest days of Roeder and the Birmingham cup humiliation. The opening goal was a stunning strike from Noe Pamarot who lashed a Nicky Butt clearance into the top corner of the Gallowgate net from 25 yards. However, the two goals that followed were a personal disaster for Cacapa who was twice easily muscled off the ball as Benjani Mwaruwari and then John Utaka tucked the ball past Steve Harper (Shay Given nursing another groin injury). Cacapa paid the price and was withdrawn, to be replaced by David Rozehnal, although by that time we had been given some brief hope when Michael Owen's attempt to tuck away a rebound ricocheted off David James and then Sol Campbell into the net. James denied Steven Taylor, Alan Amith and Owen as we tried to get back into the game either side of the break and Obafemi Martins was introduced after 57 minutes to bolster our attack. But the goals never came and the visitors killed the game off with twenty minutes remaining although it was a poorly defended Niko Kranjcar free-kick that undid us as Taylor's attempted clearance deflected past Harper and removed any lingering doubt of Pompey's first Tyneside success since 1949. Two consecutive defeats after two consecutive wins certainly doesn't signal a crisis but the manner of the loss and the defensive disasters must have sounded alarm bells for our former centre-half management duo. We tumbled to tenth in the Premiership as a result of this reverse, but Bolton's last minute leveller at West Ham prevented us from tumbling into the bottom half of the table. Defeat next Saturday is simply not an option.... After the game a shell-shocked Sam said: "We have to take it on the chin, I have to take the stick - I am the manager it's my responsibility. "I know that and I've really got to go and get stuck into the lads and make sure we don't see that sort of performance again at St.James'. "Disappointed is an understatement - I am devastated by what has happened here today. I am completely gutted inside. "The players have be organised, understand how they should play, keep their shape, keep their discipline. "Portsmouth did not have to put us to the test because we gifted them the game in those 12 minutes. "The basic errors from the back four have to be cut out. "We are working in all areas during the week and trying to get the players to understand how the Premier League can hurt you unless you stay together as a unit. "The biggest unit of all has to be the back four, knowing how each other play and understanding each other. "But after all that, I cannot cut out basic errors. If it's great play and intricate play and the opposition play around you and through you, you have to hold your hands up sometimes if your defenders have been trying to do the right thing. "But when it boils down to two basic errors like it did, then there's very little as a manager you can do. "But you have to keep working and hope it does not knock their confidence too much and keep showing them what solid, good, organised defensive work looks like in the Premier League. "By no stretch of the imagination is it just the defence. It is the protection from the balls into the back four and the quality of balls the opposition can play without any pressure on them. "Defending starts from the front, not from the back. But I do not think that, in the first 12 minutes, was the case, it came about because of basic errors. "From then on, life was very difficult for us."
