Nottingham Going to notts for a weekend on April 20th Just wondered if anyone knew any club nights going on around then.
Was down there a few weeks back for a weekend on the piss. Friday night just trawled round loads of bars (Lace Market area's decent). Saturday went to Stealth, not sure what the night was called, Deepgroove was playing and it was fucking mint. Open until 6am, proper dirty club like foundation and just £6 NUS to get in!! You'll have a quality time...
Gatecrasher have just opened a new club down there, Media Really nice, you'll have to watch out for what night is on though!
There is the Marcus Garvey Ballroom that have a few Techno nights, firefly and another ( I forget it's name) as well as a drum and bass night. There are the typical Wetherspoons and Yates' and such in the middle of town in Market Square and you can walk to most places from there. Media was a beautiful place but I don't like the nights that are on now that Gatecrasher have taken over. Stealth, the Rescue Rooms and Rock City are all close to Media and Market Square and are all pretty nice places. Cucamara is a nice little cocktail bar just off there but it's quite hidden. If you have no set plans your best bet is to start around Market square and pick a direction and walk, there are pubs and clubs all over. If you go to the other side of town to Hockley, there are a few quite plush bars, my two favourite places are The Quilted Llama and the Pitcher and Piano which is absolutely stunning inside and there is a Revolution nearby too Whatever you do stay away from Ocean it's absolutely horrible and full of chavs
It sounds like it closed and most of the big club nights it held are now in Stealth and/or Marcus Garvey
the bomb closed a couple of years ago, was the best club ive a been to in the uk by far. its still up for sale, keep hearing rumors of people goin to buy it but nothing ever comes of it. gib, stealth on the 21st has one + one, zabiela and fanciulli booked, its the best club in nottingham by far imo. dark and dingy and also has a funktion one sound system just like digital. i will probs be down for that as am gona miss shindig due to playing at elements (not a bad thing mind you ) drop me a pm mate if u fancy meeting up. got a flat down there in the city centre aswell with a wickid setup if you and your mates fancy a bit of afters madness
went there once for a drink on a sat after work before x-mas and it was fuckin aweful, thought we were gonna get stabbed,there was sick all over the only 2 free tables in there also
Eww! All places in the centre of Notts have moments like that, especially on the weekends. It's treacherous going into there if it's raining outside, it's gets so so slippy!
