I know a few of you had interviews for Northern Rock and was just wondering what to expect, I've had an e-mail saying they're going to give me a telephone interview cos I'm in Manc at the minute, so jsut wantd a bit of advice on what to expect?!??!?!

It's for the Treasury bit if that makes a difference?

    Thank you :D

I had one a while back on sat morning after the last promise!

It was dead easy only lasted for less than 10 minutes, just asked what my stregths were, why I choose my uni course, etc

Just the usual interview questions, you get told at the end of the interview if you've been successful

i just had an informal chat when i went in, a few questions about what you think about customers coming first, why you enjoy the kind of job you would do, what you think of the company, just a chat really.

unfortunatley i had a call after my interview and i had FAILED the credit check, and not owing a penny to anyone i was a bit gutted/shocked to say the least. The only thing i can work out it was, is that when i started uni, my old job lloyds tsb were supposed to be paying it as a goodwill gesture, just there was some communication problem which ended up in me getting nasty letters saying people would come to my house and take stuff away, or i would get kicked off the course :( fuckers. if this is anything to do with them im going to poke them in the eyes with needles and then cheesegrate thier elbows then rub salt and lemon juice into the wounds. buggers. :(

dont worry though hun, im sure you will be fine :)

Think the length of test/interview just depends on which job you are going for.

The maths is my main worry!

you guys got it easy! to secure my pupilage i went on a two week evaluation down in london. every day of the two weeks consisted of being presented with a problem. no help or guidance were provided at all, we weren't even told if the problems were to be solved individually or within the group.

it was very much sink or swim, without doubt it was the most intense and difficult experience i've had in my life. however i can't wait till september when i start.

best of luck to all of you, and don't bullshit any good interviewer will smell you a mile off :)

Will you still be giving us "YOUR FRIENDS IN THE NORTH" free legal advice or will your posts containing legal advice cost us many pounds from September
