    Nokia N95 vs K800i

I've had my new phone (K800i) for a week now but i've realised that it doesn't log my missed/recieved/dialled numbers. I phoned 02 and was told it's a common problem with about 80% of them but obviously SE isn't gonna let it's customers know cos that would result in loss of profit  Despite this minor problem (although seriously annoying over 18 months I'd imagine), I love this phone becuase it's simple to use and has a great camera with a proper flash.

I can get a replacement of the same model and hope it's one of the 20% without the call logging problem, or I can get a different phone. The N95 is gonna cost a one-off fee of £90 on my current (£35p/m) contract.

For those of you with the N95, is the camera good for general out and about random picture taking and inside clubs? Also, what other features does it have that are cool or of use to a typical student. I'm not really gonna use a lot of features aimed at business people. I see it has GPS, but I wouldn't have a need for that and i bet it costs you to use it.

camera is supposed to be very good...it's a 5 megapixel with a carl zeiss lens so it will be one of the best phone cameras on the market

I've heard that the K800i is best for close shots in dark surroundings, and in natural sunlight but I'm not so fussy that I'd even notice this myself tbh but I'm gonna need a good reason to fork out a further £90 for the N95. On the flip side however, I'm gonna need a good reason to take a chance on a phone that won't tell me when i've missed a call for the next 18 months :s

Hmm.. just read a review and although it got labelled as the current best phone on the market, one majoy drawback was battery life. Apparently during an 'intensive test' it needed to be charged twice on some days. I'm on a contract with 600mins and 1000txts per month, with a maximum of 2000 extra minutes to use at weekends :s

no call logging or no battery life.. which is gonna piss me off more after 18months

Well they basically just tried out the phone a lot but this is what everyone does anyway when they get a new one. Video and pics is gonna be commonly used and with the amount of mins/txts I have each month I'm gonna be using it a lot for that also. How often do you use your phone and for what?

My m8 has the N80 and her battery is crap. It needs to be charged every night and has gradually got worse over the past 5 months since she first bought it, even though it's not used a great deal. I'll be slamming my head off the ground if I end up having no phone to use in the evenings because of the battery life.

I'd possibly have done the same and waited, but I've never had a contract phone so decided now was as good a time as ever. Shame I found out about the K850i after i'd signed up. I basically have the option of most phones on the market atm yet I still don't see much that i like apart from the K800i and the N95 :s

Get a replacement K800i I've never heard of the problem with them and mine is fine with logging calls etc, O2 customer servies and sales staff are the biggest bullshitters I've ever dealt with, he obviously gets better commision on the n95 than the k800

He never recommended any phone to me. I've just made this decision purely out of preference over anything else there is available. My m8 has just got the black version of my K800 and hers does the same. Sometimes it'll work for a while after deleting the logs but then it reaches a point where it'll stop again :( Very annoying. Tbh, I'm more pleased with the level of CS I've recieved from O2 than I have been with anything else. English people talking to you who are willing to help you

such as it took them a year to start charging me the agreed rate.

    A year, literally.

They gave me £120 back in the end mind but still got dicked around!

Did u buy direct with 02?

I got my phone delivered before 10am the next day for free (there's a next day before 10am service which is meant to cost £10) and each time i've phoned customer service they've been really helpful. Safe to say I'm chuffed so far and the fact that they said i could swap my phone for any model as soon as I mentioned the call logging situation was cool. A lot of companies would have put me through to a tech helpline for ages or offered to simply fix the phone.

Them telling me 3 times I wasnt yet entitled to an upgrade, after the third time I swore and kicked off a supervisor came on the phone and told me I had been entitle to the upgrade 6 weeks earlier, I've also been overcharged twice but both times they corrected this without me having to let them know and gave me 20 quid compen each time so there not all bad
