Any good??

Possibly thinking of getting one for christmas but dont know if it will flop or not.

Any thoughts??

Its looking like its gonna be a success.

Its not going to play like a ps3 or xbox360, its something totally different. Something that would be great fun on christmas day with the family.

something you girlfriend aint gonna moan about.

Its more of a second console, something to have with a 360 i think

November 29 2006 – A huge shipment of Nintendo's new system, Wii, has now arrived in Europe ahead of launch on December 8 and with an unprecedented number of pre-orders having been taken, it is likely that there will be exceptional demand for the system when it goes on sale in Europe.

Nintendo is shipping an exceptionally large number of consoles - 4 million globally by the end of 2006 - the largest ever for a Nintendo console launch. Wii launched in the US on November 19 and sold over 600,000 consoles in just one week. That’s a rate of nearly one per second continuously since the launch date. The European and Japanese launches follow close behind – Europe on December 8 and Japan on December 2.

The intuitive, motion sensitive control of Wii means that a much wider audience than traditional 'gamers' are interested in the console – hence the surge in demand as Nintendo continues to broaden the video games market. Across Europe this year, Nintendo has reached an installed base of 7 million with the handheld, touch-screen Nintendo DS console – success which Wii aims to replicate in the home.

The fact that u can download a back catalogue of old games, including Mario, Sonic and Zelda, is a massive bonus.

It works on bonus points recieved through playing games as well I think.

The catalogue for launch ain't that good.. but these things are hot in demand and sold out immediately in the states and jap land..

nintendo are always mint, and it'll be cheap, reckon it'll be a right doss.

Even if they just rehash th old games mario, kart mario, zelda it will be mint

I've just read in a mag you're gonna be able to download old sega games like Toejam and Earl. Fucking sound great.

Ive got every snes , megadrive, amiga and nearly every arcade game on me chipped xbox

you can download loads of old games off xbox live aswell

I've got xbox live but there's only really a few decent games on it, the Wii looks to have hundreds of classics from nintendo & sega.

Loads of reviews of the wii have said every gamer will probably choose between 360 & ps3 but then get a wii too cos there's nothing like it. that's why it won't flop. The new zelda looks mint. Can't wait for release day...

I got one for zelda some of the games for it were class but there weren't enough of them-

apparently the wrist strap keeps snapping on the wiimote, and it comes out of your grip quite easily as you have to flail your arms around like a baboon in front of your tv, this has resulted in a large number of smashed tv's, windows, laptops etc...

so be wary! gaffer tape the fucker to your hand
