Went to my 2nd Ice Hockey game in 7 years on Sunday & it was good match, it was good to see some old faces still playing Ruggles,Longstaffe & Leach all ex-Warriors & Johnson,Tasker & Weaver all ex-Wasps.

I used to love the hockey used to go & watch the Warriors every week + all the young Newcastle United players used to go down as well as Longstaffe is Alan Thompsons cousin, so you would often see Thomo,Watto,Robbie Elliot, Alan Nielson etc.

Any old Durham Wasp,Billingham Bomber or Whitley Warriors fans out there?

I know Godcrasher used to go & play bit.

I am more than likely going on Sunday after I watched the rugby up at Kingston Park. Also got the Toon game on Saturday, very busy sporting weekend.

I know a lad thats plays for the Vipers, Kevin Bucas, used to play for Whitley Warriors as well. Got to turn on the crimbo lights with Bobby Robson in town last month n all.

Big Bucas got an assist on Sunday. I always read about the hockey in the Saturday Pink & when he was it Whitley he used to like a ruck or two.

Aye he likes a ruck, have known him for years went to college together and he liked a bit of a ruck then.

Canny lad to have on your side on a night out

I went when they were the Riverkings. Same time that I went to the Newcastle Eagles basketball. I enjoyed it. Haven't been in years tho.

Try to catch a match against either Scottish Rocks, London Towers, Sharks Sheffield or maybe the Chester Jets.

They always tend to pull in the biggest crowds.

Yeh, no atmosphere. Especially with people dotted about everywhere.

Aye thats Hilton. He used to live in Hadrian Park not sure if he still does tho, married a WALLSEND lass.

Thing with King was his shoulder used to pop out, he would ruck with anyone but he lost more than he won.

I used to sit right behind the goal next to the goal judge, the net would often bounce right back, with the nets you could shout abuse at the players the glass took this away
