    Newcastle v Pompy

    I'm pessimistic about tonight..........

i hate thinking like this but i can see us getting beat quite comfortably.

i think pompy might look at this competition and think they could have a real go of it

Didn't take you long to change your mind from the 5-0 Newcastle win earlier?

That's a sad factor i think, the player who looks sharpest upfront isn't even ours, and will no doubt be gone by january :(

what do people think of martins? another flop or what, he may take time to adjust to the premiership but from what I've seen he doesn't have the touch to be a class act.

I reckon there shouldnt be so much pressure on a 21 year old and a bloke who needs a hip replacement. Martins should be our 3rd choice striker and not expected to score every match, after making the chance and taking it past the other teams whole defence. I think we could do with giving him a rest and letting Rossi have a few games, no-ones been playing well lately and not just Martins. Shola has only scored from offside positions and dodgy penalties, if Martins had had that luck it would be a different storey. He just needs time and a fully fit strike partner :)

Maybe so, you say don't put all this pressure on a 21yr old, Newcastle done that straight away by paying 10million for him, then giving him the number 9 jersey, so people expect things :)

From what i've seen of Martins I reckon he can become a really good player for us. He seems to have a lot of stength for his size which will serve him well in the premiership and once he gets used to our league his pace will cause other teams plenty of problems.

He's just adapting at the minute, at the moment he loses the ball a bit too much and his touch is letting him down but he is young and I think he'll only improve. He hasn't been helped by the rest of the team playing absolute shite to be fair to him. It annoys me how quickly our fans jump to conlcusions about a player who they've only seen play for a couple of months.

edit.....I wish we'd give Rossie a fucking chance though, from what I seen of him at Man U he's a quality player. He's always looked like he will score goals.
