Newcastle Prepare Bent Bid!!! Sky Sports News understand Newcastle are ready to make a move for Charlton striker Darren Bent. The prolific front man looks likely to leave Charlton in the January transfer window after his manager Alan Pardew admitted the club might not be able to afford to keep a player who is currently injured. Upon his arrival at The Valley, Pardew stated his intention to keep Bent but following the striker's sustaining of an injury, the situation has changed somewhat. Pardew is on the lookout for a replacement striker for Bent, who will miss the next five weeks, but it remains to be seen if the Charlton board are tempted into a sale. The figure mooted to secure Bent's signature was initially believed to be around the £7million mark but this has since been rubbished by Pardew. Tottenham and Chelsea have both been strongly mooted as clubs ready to make their interest known, but Sky Sports News understand Newcastle too are now preparing a bid of their own. It is believed Charlton are very close to the signing of Arsenal striker Anthony Stokes, who has rejected the opportunity to sign for Scottish champions Celtic.
not atall but well get nowt for him unless he plays some games and scoes a few tho would you spend money on him personally i do think he can come through it hes not that old
you win some you loose some. Did newcastle pay that much for him???He would have made a hell of a difference had he been fit this year but England fucked it up for him the poor cunt
Great move if we get him, Im glad we are moving away from the target man style and starting to play proper football
If Chelsea are interested still we have no chance! But i cant see that happening really as Bent isnt at the same level as people like Drogba or Shevchenko.
Yeah lets go sign an injured player we love them . He would be a good signing but we should wait to the summer because :- 1. we will get him cheaper then 2. we need defenders more than strikers 3. 15 million is way too much money .
yeah we have been playing some good football like this season to watch at times. i think its around 10 or 11 million yeah but any more and just not sure if we should spend that much again on striker 18 million - owen 10 million - luque 10 million - martins 12million on bent would mean we have 50 million strikeeforce
Apparently Arsenal are letting Lauren go. I'd love to see us sign him, he's a quality right-back and he wouldn't cost much.
