Well, we started again for another year today.

The first day is always the best. You always get the token knackers asking such ludicrous questions as "Can I go on the mic?" or "Do you play any dance music mate?".

The funniest thing I heard today though, and the funniest thing I've heard in a long time, is when, whilst playing a wicked new Eastcoast Boogiemen tune, I asked one of these knadckers "Do you DJ then mate?", and received the reply; "Aye, but I'm not into this kinda stuff...I play house". Whilst struggling to hold in the laughter I just nodded and smiled.

Honestly, anybody in the vicinity of Newcastle College on a Monday, if nothing else, to laugh at the charvers

a mate of mine went to one at Gateshead college, they arranged a night in Whitley, went along to it, he was playing some good house stuff then the other djs came on after each other, they were all the same, banging belter hardcore waxa shit!!! mixing sounded like a fucking horse race as well

It's always the same. We've been responsible for music at a few NUS parties, and you'd be surprised how good it is to find a handful of DJs at Newcastle College that aren't gash.

i remember this from when i was at college, was fairly shit tbf like. had to wait bowt 3 hrs to get 15 mins on the decks at the 'audition', then played at po na na for them, at some party thing. i played well (i thought anyway!) then the bloke said we couldnt play the college party at legends cos he was playing the 5 hours himself!!!! TWAT!!!!! :evil:

That was when Ian was head of the student union. I remember that, was my first year at college. Did you ever hear him DJ? He was utter gash.
