great news for us, he seems like he wants to take us in the right direction. Didn't realise he bank rolled Keane's dodgy spending last year?! i just hope with him taking over we can get a decent manager. i'm please the bruce talk has calmed down

    should be an interesting summer

Its good the way Quinn puts himself across and actually has you believing he has the clubs interests at heart

Things such as...he knew this deal was going through a while but felt it wise to not announce it yet so no change in focus, or the manager mutually stepping kept quiet for the same reason

Why wouldn't he have the clubs interests at heart? He's the chairman.

A canny interview with him here for anyone interested:

    http://www.safc.com/news/ellis-short-q-amp-a.html

Seems to have his head screwed on and have realistic expectations on what to expect.

An interesting comment from Quinny was that if you combine what Short has paid for transfers so far when he only had a 30% stake, and what he has paid to buy his initial shares and then the full 100% from Drumaville this summer, he has already invested more than all the other chairmen and owners in the clubs history combined

All we need now is a manager who can spend his money sensibly and hopefully it could be a decent summer

Yeah, we are going to struggle again without atleast 3 big signings and a manager who can get the talent we have playing to its potential

A lot of chairmans say what people want to hear, and you normally think 'yeah, whatever!'

Niall Quinn is convincing that he cares

Thats how it should be. Look at the mess a business man got us (Newcastle) in

I think as long as Niall Quinn is involved at Sunderland you'll be alright, no Liverpool behind the scenes mess & stuff like that with the yank
