New Myspace Anybody else changed over to the new myspace layout yet? I did the other day and the lay out is fine, but I made a few changes to the content at the same time and these still haven't updated. Anyone else found the same (or similar) thing with it? Its only a beta version at the moment like so there is bound to be problems, just wondering if its worth mailing the site about...
LOL aye it is shit like, only use it for music stuff now as still serves a purpose in that respect. To be fair the new layout is MUCH better, if only it fucking worked....
i think facebook would totally crack it if it had some kind of music player which people could upload there own shit to, similar to soundcloud and the like. why use myspace for music when hardly no-one uses it anymore?
I find it useful for music like, as I can stick on there some tracks, my RA charts, biog, photos, gig flyers etc and any other information that I want to. If I hear a new artist and want to find out more about them then myspace is still the first place that I look, as facebook is more personal and people need to add me to see my profile (and I still cringe at the thought of sticking up a fan page on there so people can 'like' me...) Soundcloud is class for hosting music but cant host much else, and the other alternative is getting a website which is a total fuck on and costs to get it set up.
If you're after a website I can help you out with that no bother The server that this site sits on has capacity for 50-60 more websites easily, and setting them up nowadays is much simpler if you use a content management system like drupal. These format the site round the content you put on it - all you have to do is type the text and link the pictures (similar to making posts on here). Drupal's used all over the world - it's even used by the White House website (http://www.whitehouse.gov/). My HTML (website) coding isn't that great, but using drupal allows a fairly inexperienced beginner to get a good-looking site up in minutes, so noone would know anyways . You can get hundreds of themes for drupal (check them out here http://drupal.org/project/themes), using these takes the headache out of designing a site or having someone do it for you. You can just whack drupal or similar on your webspace and run it all yourself. Have a look at www.drupal.org, then have a look at www.philconway.co.uk - both use the same system, mine just uses it's own theme. If you're interested I can sort you out with one to use - all you need to do is buy the domain name for it which costs about a tenner a year

MYSPACE IS DEAD. MORE FOOL ANYONE WHO THINKS ITS A GOOD PLACE TO STICK YOUR MUSIC UP ONTO. REVERBNATION IS MUCH BETTER AND LINKS WITH FACEBOOK AND HAS CHARTS LOCAL TO NEWCASTLE AND OTHER REGIONS ETC.
