    I have two pcs and want to network them to share an internet connection.How difficult is this to do.I already have the network cards in both pcs

    in xp there is a wizard that helps u do this
    programs > accessories > communication > network set up wizard

    U need a hub.. or at least u do for more than 2 machines..

    If you want to share internet access then you need to buy a router..

    its just two machines.I thought I could do it withoout a router :(

    Nope not with 2 PCs you dont mate.

    Crossover cable between the two machines, and run the Internet Connection Sharing wizard.

    5 minute job :)

    HOWEVER, the hosting PC must always be switched on for the other machine to get internet access.
