    Network Settings

I've got a pc connected to a wireless network.

    I go into Network connections> wireless>properties

and setup the IP address, gateway & DNS manually rather than Automatically.

It connects fine no problems but everytime i restart the pc it loses these and reverts back to auto (which doesnt work!)

Any ideas why its losing them?

I've got another pc on the network connected directly to the gateway and its setup the same way (manual settings) never had any problems with it.

Bloody annoying, i wouldnt mind so much if the auto worked but it always flags up conflicting IP errors which is why i set it manually..

losing the settings...not sure off the top of my head

but a solution could be to turn on address reservation on whatever the DHCP device is (if it has this feature). This means that devices with an entry in the MAC address table for address reservation will always get the same IP from DHCP, and would solve your problem
