Nero Sound Issues with DVD converting

Right... this seems to be a long running issue when converting AVI's to DVD's using Nero Vision ... the further thru the program u get, the more the sound it out. Whether it's downloaded TV shows (lost, etc) or some DVI video camera AVIs

DVDLab doesn't like xvid AVIs, Vision takes anything - but fucks it up. WinAVI works great - but u can't put menus on.

Juski/Conway/Nerds - whats peoples thoughts on this Nero problem? There's MILLIONS of forums out there with lots of similar problems, but no REAL answer - i've even just email Nero themselves (with my LEGIT key) to see what they've got to say!

i currently have to get the AVI, use WinAVI to convert to MPG THEN use Nero Vision to burn DVDs - however - i've not tried one yet to see if the sound is in sync

There's yer problem right there, mine works fine.

Seriously though, are you running and large, memory hogging applications whilst converting as this could be a cause.
Maybe its just a poor program for converting AVI.

Cyberlink power 2 go is the only other "quick & easy to use" converter.

no, i've googled around, lots of people are having similar problems with converting AVIs to DVD. tried turning the ;smart encoding' off but that still didn't work. looks like it might be the Divx codec and nero - they just have problems.
