Need Some Help I have a laptop and a home PC. Each has a separate adsl modem. Is it possible to connect them both to a single adsl filter using a double adaptor type thingy If not wot do you all suggest. I only have one BT point in this room thanks
Re: Need Some Help nope - 2 modems u'd need 2 lines. Either : 1) buy a long cross-over patch lead, then on the PC, share out it's internet connection and connect the laptop/PC with the lead creating a mini network 2) buy a new wifi/router/modem and a wifi card for the laptop (if it doesn't have wifi) then u can you use your laptop anywhere - great for when you're having a shite * *so i've been told
Re: Need Some Help It is possible if you connect the two ps's using a Crossover RJ45 cable and connect one of the pc's to tinternet. or If one of you modems has a RJ45 connection (looks like a phone connector but bigger) you could use a Router (without an ADSL modem built in) to connect both computers to tinternet. or You could use an ADSL router. For all of the above you'll need a network card in each computer. Just googled and here's a site to give you more of an idea. Clicky
