nasty piece of spyware!!

    nasty piece of spyware!!

    ive got this leach on my system CxtPls.exe!!

    And it sapping all my memory and producing popups whenever im on the net.
    I've run adaware and spybot which find it and delete it short term but its a process which starts again after reboot. :bang:

    I've done a net search and even run that 'Hijackthis' prog but still i cant get rid...

    Last time i had summat like this someone designed a little app specifically to remove it, but i aint found one for this. :spangled:

    Help.... she's sapping all my power... :(

    Turn system restore off.

    no - if you clean your machine and it comes back when it reboots - it's probably taking advantage of the 'system restore' function that lots of viruses/trojans do. Turn system restore off, clean it, make sure it's gone. leave it off for atleast 3 or 4 reboots. make sure it's gone. THEN if u must, turn it back on.

    Ah well tried it anyway.... it seems to have worked thus far.

    May aswell leave it turned off anyway... not like i ever use it!

    sounds like if it got rid of it the first time - maybe it's just been re-infected...

    Download and use MSAnti SPyware, with the most recent updates - it's got an on-access real time scan
