Depends on how badly ur comp is infected... if system files are infected there may be no option but to re-format the whole thing... u want a good anti-virus scanner like norton internet security 2002... it updates itself, has a firewall... is safe as houses... if ur comp recovers from this, i seriously recommend u get it...

    PM me for more details.

One other bit of advice... if you get an email from someone you dont know, which has an unusually large file size... (Generally i would say about 50k +) DONT OPEN IT... They tried to infect me with this Klez virus, but i didnt open the emails, and had adequate virus protection in place, so it didnt get me...

Hope this can be of some help :)

Where were these emails sent to ? Your Hotmail account or a home Pop account?

In Internet Explorer go to TOOLS>>INTERNET OPTIONS>>DELETE FILES>>"DELETE ALL OFFLINE CONTENT"

Change your settings so you only keep 100 megs of Temp Internet Files as well. (TOOLS>>INTERNET OPTIONS>>SETTINGS)

This will improve performance while surfing.

    So much to say....

There is so much I can say on this but time is not on my side :(

    Let's see.

The klez worm is terrible, there is a small fix available from any good anti-virus site or vulnerability database site.

Hotmail scans the emails for virus and the attachments. It will warn you before you download the attachment if it is infected etc.

Any virus scan will clear klez if it is up to date.

As for system files being infected. You won't necessarily need to reinstall Windows.... that is the easy way out. Tech support hotlines are only able to say that as they don't know any other way.

Files can be replaced on boot and recovery schemes can be implemented. Depending on version of operating system.

Message me, email me I'll blabber on more and help you ;)

    ----------

    Speeding up your system:

Hardware wise or software and configuration?

128MB, standard size for systems, could increase it to 256MB or higher if you wish.

Your CPU is fine, you could overclock it if you wish :D

Clean your system of unneccessary files and software. Defragment your hard drive (basic tip). Remove items from your startup such as third party utilities.

Again, message or email me for more information. I won't bore you all with my tech babble

    This be me out.... :)

Yea... i recommend overclocking... but ya gotta make sure ur system is adequately cooled... if not kiss it goodbye... also, u said ur graphics card wernt great... if ya talkin in terms of gaming performance u defo want a new graphics card, and u can get decent performance out of a old Geforce card for next to nothing.

But my computer runs at a fair old whack, but then its overclocked to death, and filled with enough fans to cool a furnace :p

But after using hotmail for about 4 years now I still only get about 1 spam email per day.
