My Nero Problem...

My Nero Problem...

Is still occuring. I've uninstalled Nero, re-installed Nero, and it still keeps defaulting as an image. The only recorder it will let me select is 'Image Recorder'. Wtf is wrong with it, I have CDs I need to burn/copy?

Someone please help before I smash it off the wall

that happens to mine if i use it on another comp coz it was made 4 1 computer only

One day it was working, the next it wasn't. Personally, I think my dad's cocked it up whilst trying to make one of his crap CDs. He swears he didn't though. Anyone got any ideas why it's doing this, and how I can make it stop it?

That shouldn't matter, the option is given on opening Nero every time.

I think what Karl means is that some CD writers come bundled with a version of Nero which will only work with that model of writer.
If it just "stopped working" that'll not be the problem here.

I don't know the history of this so bear with me.
Nero isn't recognising the writer. Is it setup in Windows properly ie in your device manager list without an exclamation or red cross?

I thought about checking that, but I can't seem to be able to get to my device manager :spangled: Should it be through my control panel?

No idea what that is. Try this.
1) Uninstall Nero
2) Switch yer PC off, disconnect your CD writer (unplug the
white 4 core power cable) then boot back into windows.
3) Switch PC off again, plug the power back into your writer then boot up again. Windows will reinstall the writer.
4) Reinstall Nero.
5a) When it works, bow down to the mighty tech that is the LazMan.
5b) Otherwise post to say it hasn't made a blind difference and mock me mercilessly.

if it's Nero 5, install the bundled version u got with it then go download the v.5.10 upgrade patch from ahead.de - here's the link. http://www.ahead.de/en/631933454369230.html - if that don't work, go to the home page, go to downloads, upgrades, previous versions and get the Burning ROM then the free 5.5 update - it's the top one.


in my recent experience, when u install the upgrade it over writes the bundled feature so any support recorder can be used. i've done this loads at work...

i was twatted friday too... a sorry old state. logging on from home on a saturday... sad... but i was trying to avoid flat pack nightmare...which turned out to be very soothing!
