    My modems broke

Was just wondering if anyone has any ideas why my modem won't work.

Everytime AOL goes to dial up the computer just freezes and I have to restart. Win XP automatically recognises my modem and everything looks fine in the system/control panel bit.

It worked fine before, I'm not exactly sure why its started being a dick, don't think I did anything to provoke it.

    Nah, tried that

It stopped working when I had windows 98 then I installed XP because my mate reckoned it had all the drivers I'd need but that didn't work either. I removed almost everything I could from the hard drive and tried to kinda start again but that didn't work either.
