My laptop is fucked I replaced my lost charger with an ebay one that started making a peculiar clicking noise. I didn't think anything of it and plugged it in, now the laptop won't turn on or charge. It's a vaio B1VP. Clearly this is going to be expensive, but can anyone suggest what is going on here so I can look intelligent and not scammable in the laptop repair shop? Cheers.
if its one where you get a load of tips to fit different lappy's, it could be on the wrong way - so the negative is trying to put out a positive signal www.maplin.co.uk always try there before ebay
MMWWAAHAHAHAHA! prepare to be FUCKED right up the arse. Sony's are pretty and nice, just like Apple stuff, however spares can only be bought from Sony from re-sellers ( i think ) and it could cost a fortune. IF the PSU wasn't a genuine replacement and a bog standard 1, it could have not been the right voltage/amps - and it may have damaged the power board. OR it could just be the crummy PSU thats popped. get it tested with a multimeter first - once u know thats working then prepare to fork out a good few hundred quid if owt inside the laptop is knackered. the disadvantages of 1) laptop ownership 2) Sony Laptop ownership!
