Good choice my son - One of the absolute best cd decks out there! :)

Top Tip - You dont set cue points by pressing cue, you set them by stopping the deck with play/pause which sets the cue at that point.

... Use cue to return to your previous 'stop' point.

Took me a little while to realise that one - different to how the pioneers do it.

Thats how my current numark players work :D

I've used a pair of CMX3000s (Pioneer), and bizarrely you could set the cue point either way on those... and you could get it to eject the disc while playing :dunce:

Actually brid, I need a bit of advice...

I'm gonna be gigging out with this thing (hopefully). I'm looking at either a UDG bag or a flightcase. Do you have either (and if so) any recommendations?

Never played out so i cant really comment *shrug*

I would say if your taking it out regularly then a flight case would probably be best - but they are sturdy enough to be taken out and about in a bag now and again i would say. Only thing to be careful with is the platter.

I've seen it... Don't know how the hell the bloke can scratch like that, my best effort sounds shit

On the positive side I've got the hang of looping and hotstarts, as well as the alpha-track malarkey :D

I haven't tried much of the legit downloading stuff mate - I tend to stick to originals or rips of my vinyl.

Ask SiQuick (sj_js), he does a lot of legit downloading and should be able to give you some pointers

u should consider "legit" downloading mate :) the mp3s are full length and made at a high bitrate so the quality is nice. For the price of em u should check it out. Begrudging artists 1 quid for tune is a bit harsh :)

I will, didn't realise they were only around 1 coin of the realm :D

It's gonna largely depend on content though, I DJ in a place thats a bit more mainstream than that so I'm probs best signing up to a promo service.

yeah mate that makes sense, but places like beatport etc are cheap and they provide full tracks. great quality etc. I like getting things for free but a guaranteed product warrants a small fee of around 1 dollar 50.

    keep an eye out :)
