Only words but its a start. He states "the UK needs a stronger idendity", a little late now but its refreshing to hear our PM stating the obvious for once. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-12371994
Nationism, and flag waving is ONLY used these days when you have to suffer. Be it by getting shipped off to die in a war, or back at home when the government needs to put its hands in your pockets a little more.
Ask a Englishman this question and get a confused look. Ask a Middle Eastern Muslim (or even English Muslim) and make sure you have a comfy seat and at least enuff food and water for 24 hours. Your question cements the point, weakling.
surely our strength comes from the fact that we don't constantly bang on about our ' identity'. ~We aint confused or weak, we know who we are and are happy with it. it's a sign of weakness and insecurity that you have to worry about it and try to define it against some notional 'other'. You're scared that's all. Relax. those naughty bearded bogey men won't take away your identity
the chip shop man said he was going to scotland the other day , i said dont forget your pasport , he reply , 'im british im british ' in his gunga voice , he's a sound bloke
Recent polls? Are you for real? I'm sure recent polls would also say that X factor is the best thing on television that the latest Kylie track is the bees knees in the music world. Idiots are plentiful, I can't see any forward thinking intellegent people taking part in these 'polls' - I'd even go as far as to say that these polls are completely fictional.
Agree with Forks, we're a couple of hundred years beyond all that live or die for your country nonsense. nothing bores me more than meeting someone who bangs on about how I must understand about their country and what that means to them. I couldnt care less mate, there's bigger things to bother about imo.
