Have any of you regretted it? or what is the best way to go about it

I left just over two years ago now. I'm not Newcastle born and bred, but lived there for 15 years (the longest I've spent anywhere), so it was definitely home. Have definitely not regretted it - while Newcastle is great, I felt like it was time to move on.

Transferring Uni isn't quite like moving away though, you'll still be back during holidays (I assume). Then you can decide where you want to be once you graduate.

I had 6 wicked years in Newcastle, but towards the end I really started to get bored of the place.
Lived in London now for just over 18 months, and it was definitely one of the best decisions I have ever made.

Every weekend is different down here, whereas in Newcastle it all got a bit repetitive. Although that's not to say I don't like the place, it was just time for a change.

Bob i can see where your coming from but i wont be back ive built myself a life away from newcastle including a different circle of friends although i love Newcastle im itching to get out for some reason mean ive stayed on an extra 5 days down here just to get a better feel for the place as I know it may not be the same as a few days here and there

The uni thing will help me decide whether or not it is for me, if i dont like it then I can come back :)

Eyepaul I know what you mean about being repetative i just want to do it sooner rather than later

What have you got to loose? you have no kids or other lifelong commitments!

Its better to regret something you have done than what you havent. Like you said you can always come back!

as soon as Im qualified im out the country!! Before Im qualified if an opportunity comes along!

It is utterly beyond me how some people manage to live in the same town/city/area their entire lives. Go and experience somewhere else, even if it is for a short while! Probably easiest to do it while you're reasonably young too, before you get too many commitments.

From what I've seen, Lincoln is very quiet. I was there (briefly) a few weeks ago - seemed like the town that fashion and facewash forgot. Plus it was extremely white, which was very noticeable now I've been in London for a while. But then I'm not one for small places, and I only saw a tiny bit of it.

it is very quiet but you get the best of both worlds i.e a town and the countryside, they are also in the process of quite a lot of constuction work which is ideal for me being in the building trade

Ive seen quite a decent mix of race and colour since being down but some of the above rings true about the fashion etc

whats wrong with it being extremely white? shouldnt matter who lives there. and whats wrong with people living in the same city or town most of their lives, people do tend to travel. maybe they dont want to live in a crime ridden city where it isnt safe to walk the streets and someone gets knifed/shot to death almost daily. its expensive as fuck to live there everything is over inflated and crammed in. yes it has some good attractions and decent venues and there are plenty of bars and restaurants. last time i was in london i felt like a foreigner few spoke english. the main reason for people staying where they were born or near to where they were born is family and friends, some people are quite content to live up here and have a decent job with less stress. london isnt for everyone

I moved to Nottingham 4 years ago for uni and just finished last week. Im staying down here becasue my workplace (where i work part time) have said i can go full time next week, gonna do that until i can find a job related to something along the lines of my degree if anything.

Could of moved back home but i feel id be taking a step back as id probs end up living back with the rents for a while which im not prepared to do.

Its not a problem to see friends and family as its only 2.5 hours drive which is fuck all! Do it, you can always move back if you dont like it or try another city!
