Not quite the point - I try before I buy, I also download back-ups of stuff I already own, I also download freeware etc off p2p.

The copyright laws are seriously flawed, they are now being designed in favour of the Merc-driving coke-snorting house-in-Barbados rich-fucker executives rather than the consumers and creators.

I'm not gonna pay £20 for a dvd only to find that it's absolute shit - will the billion pound/dollar annual profit company give me my money back? Will they shite, it's another gold-plated tap on their jacuzzi. I would like to find out what something's like before I buy it, I would also like to be able to back it up. Furry muff - that's breaking the law, but before anyone criticises - just try and admit that you haven't taped anything off the telly and then watched it twice, or you haven't copied a cd to tape, or you haven't used a copyrighted picture as your avatar, etc etc.

    Free trade! :D

I have mates who are trance and house producers and they MAKE nothing from making music!!!

I Dont download music at all, in my eyes it is EXACTLY the smae as stealing a Cd as your not paying for the plastic your paying for the music on the CD...

Thats just my stance, i dont care if you lot download i just dont like to steal

so u dont download ANYTHING thats copyrighted? You have NO pirate software or games? You've never recorded a set off the radio? You have never recorded off the TV?

    Very much doubt it!

Fair enough - It can screw the small producers if people download their music for free. But it is often purposefully made to be free!

    I see.

So..how come you have to pay approximately 3 times for for a CD than you do for a legal download??

Hmm.....they are ripping people off, plain and simple.

as it cost more to disribute it that way, i for legal downloads tho, very good idea as you pay for the music and get the music and dont have to pay for the overheads involved

I think it depends on who is stealing what from who.
