    mixing demo cd's...

Is quite a pain in the arse sometimes.

Having to find tunes which havn't been played to death by everyone but are good enough to keep everyone listening, and go well together!

With the tune nerds that are on the crasher board etc it is impossible to stay ahead without using illegit mp3s, which i would never do on a cd!so you just gotta make the best of what you've got at the minute!

But you really can't use any 'big' tunes by 'big' artists as by the time they even come out on promo they've been around for ages!

But then isn't this half the fun of Dj'ing!:p

Just starting to think about what I'm going to put on my next one which I'm gona assemble over the next couple of weeks, so thought i would share my thoughts!

Yeah, totally agree there. I have been having bother putting my next Twisted Logic cd together too. I had a tracklisting for it done but I wasn't happy with the end result.
Should be done over the next couple of weeks tho.

it is a pain to get different stuff. but there are always some tunes which get overlooked. And as long as its a good mix, and the tunes are good, and not that old, it doesnt matter if they havent been released....
its only a few on the crasher board who are a pain! most of them are ok i think!
 but look at the fuss my mix caused just because of the first 3 tunes! :p

the trick it just to do it one day, and not spend ages looking and compiling it. cos if u do, half the tunes on it will get old...!

I'm quite lucky I'm on a mailing list :D for a little while anyway. I also play a different genre of music that many others round here do. I post playlists on here and I would say only 3 or 4 people on here have heard any of it before.

i usually go on a binge of record buying one monday, then mix it on the thursday/friday and send it out over the weekend!

last one i made i spent £120 on records, and £50 on cds, labels, covers, postage etc...but it was definately worth it as it got me a set at vision without knowing anyone at all down there!

problems, problems!!!, aye its true though i find the best way to do is by putting a little bit of everything into it or vary it from the last. me new 'twisted logic' cd's gonna take alot of peeps by surprise as theres quite a techno feel about it and a few older tunes which should keep everyone occupied!!!, people arent expecting it as theyexpect the usual trance but its all good u'll all enjoy it!!! :D

If i did a mix CD at the moment it would be probs tunes that have been kicked to fuck and back - its cos now i aint as up to date as some, i suppose it wouldnt mean anything for playing anywhere local - i still think theres shit loads of work for me to be doing yet before i start sending out minidiscs etc !

It seems however that all the students are the ones with the fucking record bags full of up to date stuff  :p

    Then again who knows :p

Keep me a copy of ya latest CD anyways dave when ya get it done ;)
