    Mixers?

Ive got a very basic set up at the moment and am thinking of getting a better mixer. iv just got a shitty numark dm950. does any1 suggest a particular one? I was told that its better getting a 3 channel so that youve got a spare for when u wanna put effects in or whateva.

Im thinkin of gettin a vestax pcv175/275. what do u suggest?

well the obvious choice is the pioneer 600 - smaller model than the one that's used in clubs - think they're about £600?

theres an imitation of the DJM 600, its about £300, and looks exactly the same, have a search in techy forum, but worth having a look at!

i d have a good look at the effects though, from the enlarged pic, it all looks very very dodgy, as do the duribility of the phono / line switches, and the spiel doesnt read too well IMO.

That's not a smaller model, that's the one used in clubs :)

I think you may be referring to the DJM500, which compared to the 600, is pretty wank.

Being realistic though, I would definately recommend the Vestax PCV275, one hell of a mixer. Had that before my DJM600 :)

Oh, and with regards to the Behringer rip off of the DJM600, I've never used it, but Behringer's build and sound quality is usually pretty crap.

Ive had a further look around and the vestax pcv 275 looks awesome but iv seen cheaper mixers that look very similar and have similar features. The Stanton Rm-3s and cheaper still, the Behringer VMX-300.

Would I be better off forking out a bit more to get the extra features, if there is any on the Vestax???

If you want an RM3 I can get you a seocnd hand one for less than £100?

Behringer is too basic. Their stuff is of absolute shit build quality, it's too plasticky.

You may get similar features on cheaper models, but you don;t get the quality of a Vestax.

Why all this talk of Pioneer and Vestax, personally I would stretch the budget and go for an Allen and Heath. I went from a Vestax to an Allen and Heath about 8months ago and have never looked back. Believe me once you have used one you will be converted.. :D

Filters are supposed to be shit hot on the Xone:32, but bar that it seems pretty featureless, bar superb build quality
    If I bought an Allen&Heath, it'd be the Xone:V6 ;)

Martskitchen, you get my PM? Not sure if it went though or not cos my comp is playing silly buggers :spangled:

The pioneer 600 is my first choise with me having one..

but if you only have that sort of money to spend, i would suggest a Gemini pmc-170,a or the next one up from that..

excerlent kill switches on this mixer!!!

go to global dj center and ask for john love or dave... they will sort you out and wont ripp you off
