    MIDI converters!?!?!

Just got some software that allows me to upload stuff to mi phone, i've got about 12,000 midi ringtones but they're all shite.

Anyone used/got a decent MIDI converter so i can convert some decent music to .MID for mi phone? or even better - somewhere for free mid ringtones?

god i sound like a 14 year old... heheh

The trouble with MIDI is that it's not music in the sense we know it - a MIDI file is like a music sheet, telling you when all the notes should be played and in what pitch etc, and the end sound depends on the device you're playing it on.

Play it on a decent soundcard and depending on who wrote the midi it may sound very close to the original music. Play it on a phone with a shitty synth wavetable and it'll sound crap.

I've got some mids kicking about (mostly just ones from lemmings and duke nukem 3d), i'll try and dig them out for you.
