MIC for radio / recording

    MIC for radio / recording

    can any1 sugest a canny MIC for both recording instruments and using as a speaking tool for radio ?

    i havent got tons of money but i wont 2 or 3 , so i recon at least 1 has to sound good ( mine) :lol:

    SM58's are usually pretty good for vocals, I've never tried using one for instruments though. They're pretty tough to boot.

    The best advice I can give you is that you go to somewhere like Sound Control in town and try a few out.

    Avoid anything with a plastic body as it'll fall to bits.

    And that reminds me - if you go for a Shure mic, stay clear of the PG58s.

    They're the budget version of the SM58 and apparently very poor.

    Senheisser Evo Range rich mate used one for years sold shed loads of them, Sure changed the head in there SM58's when they moved the factory ova to the Far East not half as good as they were i have one thats about 14 years old top notch try'd a new one jesus it sounded awfull!!
