    OFFICIAL STATEMENT
    Following a strategic review and the continued increase in the distribution of live football, Metro Radio/Magic 1152 has decided it will no longer broadcast live football commentary for Newcastle United and Sunderland AFC.
    However, we do recognise the importance of sport in the North East, and we will be replacing live commentary with unrivalled sports news coverage to ensure our listeners continue to get the service they want from both stations.
