woiuldn't it be easier to make a sticky thread in this forum and have people host the music on their own server space/mp3 sites then just link on the thread...

    hosting mixes costs money :D

yep but its still big... it aint so much the space its the bandwidth they take up... streaming/downloading media slows sites down.

bangintunes.com simpley let people add LINKS to their mixes - dont actually upload mixes to THEIR server - so wudnt harm the server.

realaudio takes less space but isnt as good quality (not always anyway - u can make it cd quality but ppl cudnt stream it without decent connections if it were...)

links to peoples mixes is a good idea - need to find sumwhere to upload em tho....

unless someone is friendly with the admin of a server with a nice pipe? (uni admins wud be ideal if anyone knows any friendly ones???? :p )

music loops on websites are irratating, they are good for the first coupla minutes, plus for ur average 56k user, it makes the page so much slower to load...

not saying its a terrible idea, but i dont really see the use of em on this site...

Feel free to correct me tho, im always open to suggestion :D

there was also myplay.com werent there, but apparently if a number of different IP addresses are logged, then it shut the account, cos its obvious its not just for one person.. are any of them like that?

i think they would be a good idea, IF (and only if) they dont load and play automatically - add a 'play' button, which THEN downloads and plays the loops, becuase then we dont have to sit and wait for the loops to load if we dont want to listen to them :)

That could be a happy medium :)
